X-VDR & S-VDR
The new standards require VDRs to have both a fixed and float free capsule, capable of holding 48 hours of voyage data. A long term storage medium is also required to record 30 days of data. The new VDR is able to record ECDIS as well as a second radar.
The Kelvin Hughes system is compliant with MSC.333(90) and IEC61996-1 Ed 2.0 and collects data from the sensors on board the vessel and stores it on an externally mounted CSM (Crash Survivable Module). The CSM is tamperproof and designed to withstand extreme shock, impact, pressure and heat.

The DM100 VDR is the standard type approved VDR system intended for all passenger ships and new cargo ships of 3000 gross tonnage and above, constructed after July 1st 2002.
The DM100 VDR is Wheelmark Approved by BSH and meets the latest performance standards and technical requirements, as defined in MSC.333(90) and IEC 61996-1 Ed.2, taking effect as of 1 July 2014.
Danelec VDRs are supplied with the VDR Explorer playback software as standard. The software runs from any PC and can provide real-time monitoring and replay recorded data.
The recorded data can be presented in a large variety of both graphical and numerical ways, and is extremely easy and user friendly to operate.
