A modern catch system that gives fishermen so much important information that it is necessary to use several screens.
This is even more relevant for those who fish with two or three trawls. The usual method is to have two or three screens on the bridge console and one by the winch console, but screens can also be placed in the mess or other places where the skipper and others can watch what is going on.
With multiple monitors you don’t need to switch between the different displays for a full overview. You can, for example, follow the fish influx on the TrawlEye image while having an overview of the trawl geometry on another. In the log image you can study how the filling rate, underwater currents, door distance and angle changes through the haul.
The ScanBas system is designed for vessels that need more functions than those available with the ScanMate system.
ScanBas displays all sensor functions, including Trawl Eye.
The advanced technology ensures reliable and accurate data presented in clear graphical images of fish influx, filling, waterflow, door angles and distance and more.
Unlike the ScanScreen system, you need to switch between the screen images or split them accordingly to the towing phase or which data you want to focus on.
In all Scanmar bridge systems, the software is in continuous development to meet new requirements in functionality and usability. The current software is significantly improved in terms of log functionality over time.
ScanMate 6 is the right bridge system for most trawlers which do not use TrawlEye, or which see no immediate need to expand beyond 6 sensor functions. Unlike the traditional systems (RX-400, 600 and 4000) which ScanMate 6 replaces, the system gives a graphic image presentation of the trawl.
But ScanMate 6 is much more than just a replacement for the old systems. The system is based on new receiver technology with significantly improved signal reception, especially at great depths and under difficult weather conditions. Anyone who has experienced reception problems due to propeller noise and other difficulties will note a big improvement with the new system.
Automatic hydrophone selection gives even further improvements. The receiver listens in to both hydrophones simultaneously and automatically selects the one with the best signal to noise ratio. Especially with Danish Seine, the combination of new receiver technology and automatic hydrophone selection is a big step forward.
The system is comprised of bridge equipment, two hydrophones, chargers and the option for up to six sensor functions. It is compatible with all sensors except trawleye. For those who require additional sensors should consider a ScanBas system.
Because the TrawlEye is closer to the fish (when mounted on the headline) it has far better detection capacity than echo sounders mounted on the vessel. An experienced skipper will easily be able to tell whether he is seeing fish or bait, and whether he is fishing for the “right species”.
SS4 DEPTH SENSOR
The DepthSensor is an invaluable tool in trawling and Purse Seine fisheries, providing accurate information of the sinking speed and depth, which enables the skipper to decide when to start trawling/pursing.

SS4 DOOR SENSOR
An important factor in all kinds of trawling is having control of your trawl doors. Water flow, speed, depth, wire length, bottom conditions and under water currents will affect the performance of your doors and the trawl efficiency.
The TrawlSounder is an advanced echo sounder showing the height of the trawl opening, if the trawl is on the seabed and the distance between the trawl and seabed.
It also provides a simplified “sonar” that shows whether there is fish influx and the volume.

SS4 CatchSensor or SuperCatch: CatchSensor, filling indicator or both Scanmar SS4 CatchSensor meets all the requirements any fisherman could have.
SS4 CLUMP SENSOR
To avoid asymmetry when fishing with twin or triple trawl it is important that doors and clump are in line. Information about the doors’ and clump’s position in relation to each other is therefore essential.
Sorting grids were first used in the shrimp fleet (Pandalus Borealis) at the end of the eighties.
The aim was to fish for shrimp in fields with many small fish, but without taking the latter as a by-catch. In many countries there are regulations regarding trawling, and in some areas it is mandatory to use a grid in the cod end.
